Storage Space (July 2011)

19 July 2011 - Leanne Scott

No matter what type of craft you are into, you will never seem to have enough storage space, if like me you are not the tidiest of people to start off with this can only make worse. If your craft is anything from bead work to upholstery there are lots of fantastic (and often beautiful) storage solutions.

If you are after a purely practical storage container then a set of craft storage stackers or plastic storage boxes are probably the way forward, they are available in many different sizes and the storage boxes often have non fixed dividers inside so you can customise the space inside to suit your needs. I find these especially useful when it comes to thread, I don’t believe there’s a room in my house that doesn’t have at least 1 bobbin or skein, Bobbin boxes and thread organiser boxes and priceless for keeping your threads clean and tangle free. Plastic storage doesn’t have to be only for the smaller crafts, if you have lots of equipment we have much large plastic storage boxes such as the plastic craft caddy, with removable draws and trays and carrying handles they are the essence of practicality.

If you like something a little on the cuter side take a look at the fabric covered work boxes or something beautiful from the ‘button it’ range, weather your taste is cats, butterflies or polka dots, flowers or ballerina shoes the amazing range will defiantly have something to satisfy your ‘aaawwwww’ factor. Also in a number of sizes there’s boxes can also make great presents – why not even fill them with sewing goodies to make it even more personal.

Of course craft storage does not always have to be something so portable, if you tend to craft only in your home (probably in your PJ’s) then we also have some lovely knit and sew floor stands, or large craft and project bags are ideal for keeping your wool, knitting or crochet needles and patterns safe.
